Add the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into a mixing bowl. Whisk the egg and milk together in a jug, and gradually beat the milk mixture into your flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Mix until nice and smooth.
Preheat a small pan to medium heat using butter or oil. Pour some mixture into the pan until the base is covered. Cook until both sides are golden brown and serve straight away for the best taste.
