The perfect pancakes

Make these fluffy pancakes for a special occasion.


  • 140g plain flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 ½ tsp caster sugar
  • 135 ml milk
  • 1 large egg


  1. Add flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into a mixing bowl. Whisk egg and milk together in a separate jug, and gradually beat the milk mixture into your flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Mix until smooth.
  2. Preheat a small pan to medium heat with butter or oil. Pour or ladle some mixture into the pan until the base is covered. Cook until both sides are golden brown. Serve straight away for the best taste with your favourite honey.
