Hayden Paddon announces his plans for 2012

Hayden Paddon and co-driver John Kennard have announced today that they will be contesting the Super 2000 World Rally Championship (SWRC) in 2012 in a Skoda Fabia, with the support of a new partnership with the Giltrap Group and a new team, ASM Motorsport, who are based in Barcelona.

Hayden's decision to team up with Skoda has come after learning that Skoda's parent company, Volkswagen, had confirmed their entry into the World Rally Championship in 2013. He has also formed a new relationship with the Giltrap Group who, as well as being one of New Zealand's largest motor vehicle importers and retailers, are Skoda's distributor in New Zealand.

Hayden's goal is to win the SWRC title in 2012 - competitors are required to contest 7 of 8 World Rally Championship events. Hayden has elected to compete in the following:

  • Rally Sweden - February 9 - 12
  • Rally Portugal - March 29 - April 1
  • Rally New Zealand - June 22 - 24
  • Rally Finland - August 2 - 5
  • Wales Rally GB - September 13-16
  • Rally France - October 4 - 7
  • Rally Spain - November 8 - 11
